Data Scientist

We are seeking a talented Data Scientist to join a fast paced Waste Management company based in Clondalkin

Qualifications Required:

* Education:

o Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

* Experience:

o 2-5 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related role.

o Proven experience in developing and deploying predictive models and machine learning algorithms.

o Experience working with large datasets and complex data systems.

* Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.

o Strong experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.

o Experience with SQL and database management.

o Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure is a plus.

o Familiarity with big data tools such as Hadoop or Spark is a plus.

* Soft Skills:

o Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

o Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

o Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

Analysis

* Build and maintain a corporate data warehouse

* Troubleshoot issues with the data inputs from Group supplier systems

* Monitor daily use and growth of database

* Produce regular MI and reports on database use, growth and status

* Design and build database where necessary, as part of a project team

* Support solution design from a data and database perspective

* Obtain agreement for and deliver data integrity, data security and data loss prevention solutions

* Pro-actively manage the agenda for technology & systems improvements in the Corporate domain

* Maintain and create tables, views and stored procedures using SQL Server 2012/2016

* In conjunction with business managers, identify and collect BI requirements, and translate requirements into a technical specification for development

* Offer and develop solutions to the business across visualisation products such as Tableau, and PowerBI.

* Extract, Transform and Load data using tools such as MySQL, AWS Glue, Python, API’s, SQL

* Assist in the creation of managerial dashboards with statistical insights

* Asset tracking, logistics assistance, routing/mapping

Development

* Create and maintain reporting dashboards and alerts in line with a specific design, uniform graphic set and eye-grabbing details

* Liaise with the stakeholders to establish the needs and functions of internal reports and alerts

* Consider the human-computer interaction (HCI) element of a design

* Create bespoke reports from SQL databases from main customer account system.

* Create predictive analytics reports on current customer trends and actions. Eg when is a customer likely to leave.

* Maintain and develop complex financial reports
